Purpose
These terms govern the sale, through sealed bids, of the single work presented each week on Tenwe.

Role of Tenwe
Tenwe sells the work on behalf of the artist, under a sales mandate. The legal qualification of the sale (auction or not) determines several rules below.

The bid
One bid per person and per edition, sealed until Sunday 21:00 (Paris time). It can be changed or withdrawn from your bid’s space, using your account code until then. By sealing a bid, you commit to buying the work if it wins.

Card authorisation
A €1 authorisation is placed on your card to check it. It is not charged and is released after the close if your bid is not retained.

Close and award
At 21:00 all bids are opened at the same time. The highest bid wins, provided it reaches the reserve price agreed with the artist. In the event of a tie, the earliest bid wins. The winner is notified by email within the minute.

Price and fees
The total price includes the hammer price, a buyer’s premium of 20% including VAT, the crate, shipping and insurance, and any import duties and taxes at the destination.

Payment
Payment is due within 7 days of the award, by card or bank transfer. In the event of non-payment, the sale may be cancelled and the work offered to the next highest bidder.

Right of withdrawal
Whether the 14-day right of withdrawal applies to this type of sale (French Consumer Code, articles L221-18 and L221-28) must be confirmed.

Shipping and risk
The work leaves the studio after full payment, in a custom crate, insured door to door. Ownership passes on full payment; risk passes on delivery.

Certificate
The work comes with a certificate of authenticity co-signed by the artist and Tenwe, registered under a unique number.

Copyright
Buying the work does not transfer the artist’s copyright. Images of the work remain usable by Tenwe to document the edition.

Data collected
Email address, name if provided, bids and their history, delivery address, reminders chosen, contact messages and live questions. Card numbers are handled by Stripe and never stored by Tenwe.

Running the sale and the account (contract), identity check of the winner (legal obligation), newsletter and reminders (consent), audience measurement without cookies (legitimate interest).

Retention
Account code and bid data: 3 years after the close of the edition. Invoices: 10 years. Identity documents: per the legal obligation. Contact messages: 1 year.
